Get to know Pip
John Pipitone (Pip) is a native of Rochester, New York. He and his wife of 50 years, Carol, currently live in Webster, NY. They have 3 sons, 5 grandsons and a dog named Tosca.
He is retired from the Eastman Kodak Company and Rochester General Hospital and is a US Army Viet Nam Era Veteran.
Pip has been active in the Western New York Drum and Bugle Corps scene since the late 1950s, taking time off to serve in the military. His past endeavors include marching with the Dutchtown Ramblers/Lancers, Chili Crimson Cadets, Emerald Cadets, Ridge-Culver Statesmen, Rochester Grey Knights, St. Joseph’s of Batavia, Phoenix, Rochester Crusaders, St. Joseph’s Alumni Corps (Founding Member), Ghost Riders, St. Joseph’s Reunion Brass Ensemble and Prime Time Brass.
Over the years, he has taught the Rochester Patriots, St. Joseph’s Alumni Corps, the Northmen, Fusion, Cadets of Greece, Emerald Cadets, American Patrol, Alpine Girls, St. Joe’s Peanuts and the Oakfield Sabers.
Pip is also a member of Bugles Across American, playing Taps for deceased veterans and law enforcement officers.
