Get to know Juice
Mark, a resident of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, started playing trumpet in grade 5 and began marching drum corps in 1971 with the Kiwanis Kavaliers of Kitchener, playing lead soprano bugle for 4 years. He then moved to the Dutch Boy Cadets, playing Mellophone, for the 1975 and 1976 seasons. When Dutch Boy Cadets merged with the Flying Dutchman to become Northstar, Juice marched there for two seasons until the corps folded. He then spent two years with the Etobicoke Oakland Crusaders.
Juice also taught brass for the Kiwanis Kavaliers for three years and part of a season with Ventures.
From 1984 to 1989 he marched with the Guelph Royalaires; from 1990 to 2000 he marched the Empire Statesmen; and from 2001 to 2002 with the Syracuse Brigadiers. He then continued with the Statesmen in 2005, and 2007 to 2010.
Juice joined The Hitmen Brass Band in 2003 and as the group decided to leave to create Prime Time Brass, he joined them to play baritone.
Mark has been instrumental in bringing PTB to Canada for many performances, including the Montreal St. Patrick’s Day Parade, and numerous Santa Claus Parades. Also, thanks to Mark, PTB has become a regular at the Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario Oktoberfest.
